My work is channelled through the unlikely conduit of rhetorical spectatorship, interpreting the questionable vistas of creative design theory and contemporary artistic practices. Shifting between specific kernels of research and personal investigations, recent 2D/3D works focus on the fixed and the temporal, shot through with critical, spatial and contextual spheres of art-making. The sculptures and installations fastidiously strive to invoke, change and supplement the veritable and unpredictable strands of material. Replete with allusions to the ‘stage’ and ‘the staged’, I am interested in fabrication, loss, serendipity and atmosphere – qualities which extend the problematic notions of physicality, function and possibility in connecting objects to subjects.
