mouse and bean are Glasgow based environmentally and ethically aware textile designers who produce printed textiles for the interiors market. All designs are hand printed using only organic fabric with water based ink. They are committed to being as environmentally friendly as possible in order to try and reduce the amount of chemicals and human consequences involved in the current textile industry.
Otherwise known as Laura and Anna to their friends and colleagues, mouse and bean met whilst studying Visual Communication at The Glasgow School of Art. After spending time designing, printing and planning their new venture whilst working on various film and theatre activities during the day and often night, they decided to make a firm commitment to their dream of establishing their own business. Their studio was set up during 2007 and they launched their first collection in August 2008 at Homes and Interiors Scotland.
